Branch's Catch the Ace fundraiser tickets available
It has begun! The Catch the Ace
tickets are out and we are pleased at
how well they are selling already.
There are 500 tickets available each
week for each draw. If all the tickets
sell out each week, the name drawn
at the Friday night draw will receive
$500, or if only a portion of the
tickets are sold, that name will
receive 20 per cent of the sales. April
13 is the first draw and to celebrate
we have Adam Cousins coming to
entertain.

Huron Feeding Systems marked its 40th anniversary last Friday with a special all -day open
house that included burgers and hot dogs cooked by some particularly experienced grill
masters, Steve Dawe, left, and Shawn Jacklin. The business has grown from a garage to
multiple buildings near the north end of Brussels and is one of few businesses in the area that
can boast being owned by the same family, the Seilis, for the past 40 years. Currently, three
generations of the family work at the business. (Denny Scott photo)

Ontario Provincial Police Sgt.
Peter Leon said that police began
investigating the business — which is
now closed, but until recently
operated three funeral homes in
Wasaga Beach, Midland and
Penetanguishene — in 2013 and
eventually uncovered 86 victims
who have alleged that they were
defrauded of over $400,000.
Leon did say that the victims of
the alleged fraud have been
compensated by the Bereavement
Authority of Ontario, the province's
regulatory body for funeral service
providers.
Police have stated that no other
family members who helped run the
business are suspected of
participating in fraud.
