Dorothy Jean Baker (nee Drager)
passed away peacefully at Stratford
General Hospital on Saturday, Dec.
23, 2017. In her 86 years among us,
Dorothy was a source of love, caring
and kindness within the circle of her
family and friends.
Predeceased by her husband
Meade (April 2008), Dorothy will be
lovingly remembered by their
children Sheila (Jim) Thompson,
Doris Williamson, Betty Jean Walsh
and Ed (Pat) Baker. Cherishing
memories of a special grandma are
nine grandchildren, 25 great-
grandchildren and four great -great-
grandchildren.
Dorothy will also be fondly
remembered by her siblings Harvey
(Mazie) Drager, Ron (Dorothy)
Drager, Wilfred (Jean) Drager, Pearl
Johnston, Rita (George) Hatcher,
Erma Costello, Ken (Marg) Drager,
Raymond (Shirley) Drager, Betty
Lou Price, Jacqueline Clithero,
along with Meade's siblings and
many nieces and nephews.
Joining her husband Meade in
eternal life, Dorothy's spirit will also
be reunited with her sons -in-laws
Neil Williamson and John Walsh,
and all those in her large family
circle who have gone on before us.
Funeral arrangements are
entrusted to McGlynn Family
Funeral Home, Seaforth. At
Dorothy's request cremation has
taken place. A graveside service will
take place on Dorothy's birthday,
Monday, May 28 at
2 p.m. in Baird's Cemetery.
As expressions of sympathy, the

SHARON JEFFREY
It is with heavy hearts that we
announce the passing of Sharon
Jeffrey (nee Somerville), the
beautiful and beloved wife and
teammate to Larry for 53 years.
Sharon passed away on Dec. 24,
2017 in her 74th year.
Sharon was the loving mother of
Melaine (Brian) Buffinga, Bluewater
and Todd (Carrie) Jeffrey, Barrie and
the proud Nana of Connor and
Lauren. She is survived by brother
Paul (Carolyn) Somerville, Walton
Obituaries
and her cousin and lifelong
friend/twin Barb MacDonald. She
was the dear aunt of her many nieces
and nephews, as well as countless
adored cousins.
She was predeceased by her
parents Walter and Margaret
Somerville, brother Tom, sister
Elaine and brother Brian.
Sharon had a passion in helping
others. She enjoyed music and
dancing, flower gardens and her
cats. Everyone who knew her caring
ways and her vibrant smile, will miss
her presence within the community.
She enjoyed dedicating her time for
the past 50 years to the Catholic
Women's League and St. Peter's
choir, as well as helping Larry at the
Knights of Columbus.
The family has respectfully chosen
a private visitation only.
Funeral mass was held at St.
Peter's Roman Catholic Church in
Goderich, on Saturday, Dec. 30. A
reception followed at the Columbus
Community Centre.
As expressions of sympathy,

Huron County Hospice or One Care
Support Services or to the charity of
one's choice would be appreciated

JOYCE ISABEL McCLURE
Peacefully, surrounded by the love
of her family, Joyce Isabel McClure
(nee Pfaff) passed away on Sunday,
Dec. 31, 2017 at Seaforth Long Term
Care Home. In her 81 years among
us, Joyce brightened the world
around her with ways of love, caring
and laughter. Her smile brightened
everyone's day. Her countless
volunteer hours shaped the life and
times of our community.
Predeceased by her husband Don
(2014), Joyce will be lovingly
remembered by their children,
Janice (Doug) Leonhardt, Debbie
(Dennis) Murray, Cheryl McClure
(Jimmy), James (Ann) McClure and
Keith (Alisa) McClure. Cherishing
memories of a very special grandma
are Christa (Kelly), Adam (Lisa),
Mike (Stacey), Curtis (Nicole),
Kevin (Jaime), Nick, Keenan, Kelti,
and 12 great-grandchildren. Joyce
will be fondly remembered by her
sisters Greta Baker and Marjorie
(Doug) Gibbings and will also be
missed by Don's siblings and many
nieces and nephews.
Reunited with her husband Don,
we trust that Joyce's spirit also joins
her parents Nelson and Jean (nee
MacDonald) Pfaff, brother-in-law
Murray Baker and all those in her
family circle who have gone on
before us.
Visitation took place at McGlynn
Family Funeral Home, Seaforth on
Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2018. A funeral
service to honour Joyce's life will be
held at the funeral home on
Thursday, Jan. 4 at lla.m. A
reception will follow at Cavan
United Church, 81645 North Line
Road, Winthrop. Spring interment in
Maitlandbank Cemetery.

ROBERT GORDON VEITCH
Robert Gordon Veitch of Listowel,
passed away at Listowel Memorial
Hospital, with his wife at his side on
Thursday, Dec. 21, 2017. He was in
his 46th year.
Rob was the loving husband of
Erin (Cook) Veitch and devoted
father of Evan and Karsyn. He was
the son of Ross Veitch and the late
Ruth (Peachey) and brother of Rich
Veitch, all of Listowel.
Rob was the son-in-law of Ron
and Marg Cook, Belgrave; brother-
in-law of Shannon Kucan, Wingham
and Chad Cook and Carolyn Ruff,
Belgrave.
Rob was loved and will be
remembered by his aunts, uncles,
nieces, nephews and many friends.
Visitation was held at the Eaton
Funeral Home, Listowel on Dec. 27.
The funeral service was held at
Knox Presbyterian Church, Listowel
on Dec. 28. Interment will be in
Fairview Cemetery, Listowel.
A reception and further
celebration of Rob's life followed at
the Kin Station, Listowel.
VIOLA ADELINE RILEY
Viola Adeline Riley (nee Cardiff)
passed away peacefully on Sunday,
Dec. 24, 2017 at Seaforth Long Term
Care Home. In her 93 years among
us, Viola lived a life fashioned by
love, faith and kindness.
Predeceased by her husband
Archie, Viola will be lovingly
remembered by their children Shirley
Langlois, Calgary; David and Joan
Riley, Kitchener; Harvey and Carol
Riley, St. Thomas; Clayton and Dawn
Riley, Kinburn; Nancy and Doug
Bickell, Brampton and Steven and
Stella Riley, Kitchener. Cherishing
memories of a special grandma are
13 grandchildren, 20 great-
grandchildren and six great -great-
grandchildren. Viola will be fondly
remembered by her sister Olive (Art)
Bell and many nieces and nephews.
Along with her husband, Archie,
and their infant son Ross, in faith,
we trust that Viola's spirit will be
reunited in eternal life with her
siblings Bill, Jack (Peg), Pete
(Helen) and George Cardiff, Vera
(Lloyd) Weber and Verna in infancy.

CORNELIA HAAK
Peacefully, surrounded by the love
of her family, Cornelia Haak (nee
Greidanus), passed away and entered
into the arms of her loving Saviour,
Jesus Christ, on Saturday, Dec. 30,
2017, at Alexandra Marine and
General Hospital in Goderich.
Throughout her 85 years among us,
Corry was a loving, nurturing
presence within the circle of her
family, friends and community.
Corry will be lovingly
remembered by her husband Gary
(Gerrit) and their children, Clarence
(Diane) Haak, John (Janet) Haak,
Margaret (Jack) Kroes, Gary
(Yolanda) Haak, Wilma (Raymond)
Drost, Albert Haak, and Benita
(Scott) Koeman. Cherishing
memories of a special Beppe are 21
grandchildren and 13 great-
grandchildren. Corry will be missed
by her siblings Jenny Valkenburg,
Don (Greta) Greidanus, Burt (Riek)
Greidanus, Joanne (Jack) Koetsier,
and Leo (Eileen) Greidanus,
and sisters -in-laws Theresa
Greidanus and Grace Greidanus.
Corry will also be fondly

family and friends.
In faith, we trust that Corry's spirit
will be reunited in eternal life with
their infant son John Leo and her
siblings Lieuwe, Jim and John
Greidanus, Alice Bakelaar and
Wilma Holland.
