The Late William Stewart
Fallowing a long period of failing health
William Stewart, of Clinton, retired farm-
er, died May 22nd, at the hone of his
son-in-law, Mr. Thomas Adams, Hutlett
Tp., where he had gone for a short visit.
Ile was horn at Ancaster on October 15,
1851, son of the late Charles and Marie
Stewart, grand son of the late Squire
William Nailor and nephew of the late
Captain James Peters and of Sir Robert
Clark, lord mayor of Inniskitlen, Ireland.
Surviving are his second wife, one son
and three daughters, namely, Chas. 1V,
Stewart, on the homestead, Hallett ; Miss
Edith Stewart, Clinton; MP, '1'. Adams.
Mullett, and Mrs. Fred Toll, Jr , East
Wawanosh, Deceased was a member of
the Orangt Order, being the last charter
member of the old Hamilton Stewart
Lodge which was organized by his grand
f ither. He was a Conservative in politics
and a member of the United Church and
had been a resident of Hallett Tp. since
Ins seventh year until retiring from his
farm fifteen years ago. His first wife was
Miss Selina Trewin, daughter of the late
William Trewin, of Blyth,
The funeral took place on Saturday
afternoon under the auspices of Blyth
Orange Lodge of which deceaseet was a
member, assisted by the brethren of a
number of the lodges in the district, The
service at the home and grave was con-
ducted by Rev, Mr. Hogg, of Clinton, as-
sistei by Rev. Mr. John stop. of Londes•
baro, follow d by interment in Burns'

The pallbearers were five nephews of
the deceased, naniely, Messrs. Herbert
Dexter, Harold Dexter, aeries Dexter,
Austin Dexter, Wm. Trewin and James
Coming,

res will be harvested, according to an offic
ial estimate, The difference of 160,000
acres represents of winter -killed. The per-
centage is 24 per cent., as compared with
5 per cent. in 1929 and 9 per cent. the
averagt for the ten years 1920-1930. On-
tario als lost 15 per cent. of its hay and
clover crop by winter -killing, as compared
with 6 per cent. last year.
