A BIG MAZE.
The barn ana' 'stables of Mr. James
Snell of Mullett, which were among
the most coinplete in the county, went
np in smoke Xondey night. . •
Mr. Snell was awakeued by the con-
flagration at midnight,. but it had
then gained suck great headway that
he saw at a glauce that the buildings
were doomed to deetructioe.
l'he only live static in the stebles at
the time 'were • two thorobred bulls
and a stallion. The latter and Ona of
built they managed to save though thq
horse made repeated efforts to taunt
to its fiery stall. The animal which
was burned was a valuable thorobrod.
The barn was full from floor to roof
with the whole of this season's men,.
The harvesting operations had only
been completed the evening before, Tit -
deed, the last load wits hauled in at
to 'late en hour that it remained,. on
the eva.gon.
•'Mr. Snell, who has spent a lifetime
in Mullett, saye he never had a better
crop. The gram was of good qual-•
ity and the strcisti long.
The fire made al clean sweep of the
farm buildinge and Mr, .Snell is now
without shelter for a head of stock
which, as is Well known, is 'among the
most Valuable in Muron, As it is
new almost too late in the Season to
build more than a toniporary shelter,
he will probably have to dispose of
the bulk of his thorobreds.
Much sympathy it expressed for Mr,
Smell, who th an extetisiv,e breeder of
high class sheep arid cattle has clout
witch towards improvitig• the steek in
this County.
The • origin of the fire is iniknown,
but it is supposed to have been tens-
ed by spontaiieous coinbustion.
Upon the buildings, vvhich could
hot be rep/teed , at the present tittle
for $2000, there was an inattraued of

Mr. George W. Barge, who is a good

experience prefers the Buff and White
