don Cunninghame have returned
home after spending a few days
with Henfryn freinds.
Mr. P. .B: Crews left on Monday to
take an optical course and on his
return purposes paying particular,
attention to that branch of his busi-

Mr' T. 0 Jackson, .Jr., leaves on Satur-
day oh. a business trip through Man-
itoba and the Northwest, • He will
be joined at North Bay by Mr•John:
Ransford. •
Mr. We Jackson •goes to Toronto in
the morning to attend a meeting of
the executive of ' the Canadian Rail-
way Ticket Association of which he
is president.
Mrs. Fred. Bakes, who has been mak-
ing her .home for some time with
her father, Mr. William McKeown,
leaves next week to join her hus-
band at Los Angeles, California.
Major Beck and Mr. James Mitchell
of Goderich were in town on Tues-
day and Went north about mid-day.
It is needless to say on what errand
they were, The genial Major was
just as happy and as friendly as
when he was extending the glad
hand for his own good and welfare,
Mr. John Ransford is in Montreal
this week andwill attend the conse-
cration of Bishop Carmichael tee
morrow. His lordship was a form-
er rector of St. 1'aul'e church, Clin-
ton, on whose behalf Mr. Ransford
will present him with a handsomely
illuminated address.. On Saturday
he leaves the city on a business trip
to the Coast,
Mr. W. C, Cooper, who is spending a
few weeksat his home hi town,
leaves shortly for , the West. He
represents a big house whose head-
quarters are at Port Arthur and
in whose interests he travels to the
Coast, His first trip this season he
expects will be up into the 'Yukon,
including Dawson City. Mr. Cooper
has seen a good part of the West
Which he describes in an entertain-
ing Manner.
