A pleasant event took place at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Addison
on Wednesday of last week when hie
second oldest daughter, Louisa, became
the bride of Mr. Andrew Heggart. The.
knotwas tied in the presence of about
thirty invited guebte bV Rev. James
Hamilton of Londesboro. Alter the
ceremony, the congratulations and
good wishes,the company sat down to
the sumptuous wedding dinner which
W&8 in teadiness. The bride is a much
respected and popular young lady to
winch the many useful and valuable
presents gave testimony. Among the
guests from outside the township were:

Messrs.Georgeand Alex.Idedd.sons of
Mr. J. II .Medd of the 7th con., are vis•
iting at home at present. They have
been engaged in the cheese and
butter making at St. Marys. By the
way,Mr. George is quite an expert in
the business. He exhibited an uncol-
ored cheese at the Woodstock dairy
convention and show and won let prize
amounting to $25, with a score of 97,
points. There were" twenty one com-
petitors.
Mr. Lou Farnham is one of the most
cheerful men in the township, always
having a smileand word for everybody,
but there is a change which even stran-
gers notice. What is it, everybody
wants to know. ' Well, there is rs new

The measles are odd to be prevalent

A meeting of the eharellolderti of
the cheese factory was held on Satur-
day when, after discussing the pees
arid cone, it was decided to make but-
ter next season instead of chew. To
enable them to do so an expenditure of
about $800 will be made in the plant at
once. There will thus be on hand
both a buttee and chew plant so that
a change about can be tussle if the state
of tlae market demands it. The fol-

Lindsay. • At a subsequent meeting of
the directors W. B. Forster was chosen

Mr. Joe Kerr, our former townsman

of the town, has experienced had luck
of late. A few:months ago he lost the
besthorse of the three by inflammation
and Monday knot the best again of the
three died from the same trouble.
We sincerely hope the tide wilt now
turn and that our good friend Joe will
experience'the truthfulness of the old
adage that s bad beginning may have a
good ending.
Miss Bella McOurdie was married on
Wednesday last to Mr, B. Tarbut,
formerly of Wingharn now of Kincar-

Mrs. Smeltzer, formerly Miss Baker,
of your town, but now residing near
Wingham, is this week visiting friends
in Clinton.
A report is current that- a sindicate
composed of all Winghem gentlemen,
have purchased ayman's tannery, and
propose in the spring pulling It down
to build upon its site :a large furniture
factory. Those who are concerned in
this enterprise are all solid busi-
ness men who will doubtless make
this enterprise a succese and also
give a boom to our thriving western
town. ' • .
Mrs. BreeM; of whom menkion was
made in our last correspondence, is, we
are sorry to state, very low, with no hope
of recovery.
Mr. Bugg, who recently bought the
business
of Mr. Duffield, is in Toronto,
on a very sad errand. He has been up -
well for quite a time; and now he is in
the Queen City to have an operation
performed. . We sincerely hope he will
•return'ihorne with returned health and
