who figured in the smallpox scare. of
a couple of months ago, was in town

there were real grounds for it but to

the unfortunate twelve, out of seven-
ty or so, who had to listen to a
wearying lot of evidence,
Mr, John Harrison of Goderich town-
ship arrived in town on Saturday on
his way home • from Bruce Mines
where he met with an accident while
in the employ of Mr; Donaldson,
owner of .the planing mill at that
place. Mr. Harrison had the fingers,
of his hand .badly cut and as he will
be unable to use the hand freely for
five orsix weeks he thought it better
to come me than to spend the time
at the Mines doing nothing.
Mr. John McElroy of Morris township
:was in town un .Friday making
• arrangements for his visit to Man-
itoba. He expects to start next week
and will be absent all summer and
probably longer. Six members of
Mr.McElroy's family live in South:
ern Manitoba, all within a few miles
ofeach other and are doing well.
