in London hospital, is, we arelpleased
to say, improving; we trustshe will
soon be in her usual health. A large
number of our local sportsmen gather-
ed at W. J, Todd's on Friday and had
a rabbit hunt; they captured one, we
believe. after which all enjoyed a most
delicious supper prepared by the ladies;
all the company, about 45, spent the
evening pleasantly in games, music
and singing. after which all departed
for home thanking the host and hostess

Hoath of Mrs Margaret Fraser, one of
the pioneers of this place; she had been
ailing for some time and quietly passed
away on Monday last; her funeral was

day, Dec. 17, a public examination will
be held in the school, cowmencing at 1
o'clock and until 4 p.m.,the pupils will
he examined by a nuneber of teachers -
from 4 to 5 o'clock lunch will be aeryed,
and after the inner manilas been some-
what satislled, an entertainment will
be given by the scholars and outsiders.

NATass.--N. C. Efford, Secretary of
the West Huron Farmers' Institute,
left on Monday. for Guelph to attend
the winter fair and the sessions of the
experimental union;in connection with
the latter he will giye an address. The
second lot of chickens in the fattening
station here were killed on Friday; al.
though this lot had been kept some
two weeks shorter time than the first
lot they were found to have made sat-
isfactory progress. Mrs 1.1;. Elford at-
tended a meeting in Goderich on Mon-
day, Mrs G. Tebbutt and Mrs Leach
visited the county town on Friday.
Mrs W.•Pickard was somewhat indis-
posed ern Sunday,but is better. .
