Most Canadians appreciate their , news-
papers, but hardly to the degree in which
Prof. Lynch appreciates them. The aver-
age man will enbsoribe for one or two news
papers, buy sothers occasionally on the
street, and accept any number of "dead-
heads," but Prof.Lynch subsoribee for over
100 dailies and peas for them. He does not
do this for his own reading, but di stributea'
them in lieu of text books on contemporaneous history among hie dames at Moun-

of the home papers, and thecounty papers
and the metropolitan :eapers, because he
considers tbemathe most valuable agents.
