down fell and twisted hei arm so Bev-
erly that it was necessary to call in a
doctor and have it "set". The arm

little patient. had to be put under the
influence of.chloroform while the
mernbe"r was put up in splints.

been very generous with bequets to
friends. Owing to the scarcity of rain

HORSE. NOTES.— Mr John Pickett,
of the Huron road, east, lost a mare
and foal this week. We hear that; Mr
Layton, of Tackersmith, also„ had a
horse drop dead the other' day. While
the funeral of the late J. J. McL%ugh-
ton was on its way to ,the- cemetery,
on Tuesday, one of the horses become
exhausted with the heat, when near
W. Snell's, and the procession had to
stop until a substitute horse was pro-
cured from Mr :Snell.

alty was imposed -upon George Hinch
ley, for an alleged offence, that . he
