Emma, second daughter of Jo.% Swit-
zer, Bayfieldline. Sha hes been ailing
for some time, but lately her disease
developed very rapidly. She was a
little over 17 years of age and was lov.

amiable disposition. She WAS CONSCIOUS
to the last and as she was dying she
called the family to her bedside and
bid each a , good-bye. This is the

last Sas. Foster entertained the breth-
ren of Curt Varna, No. 204, 0.0, Fato
a suraptuous repast. Mr Foster took
this plan of showing his gratitude to
them during his late illness. The breth-
ren vvere completely taken by surprise
but at the same time did ample justice
to the good things provided and all
went home feeling satisfied that Bro.
Foster and his estimable lady were
royal entertainers,
DEATHS. -Mies Anna Demon, of the
Babylon line, daughter of Henry Dow.
son, died on Friday night at the early
age of 23 years; Miss Demon was%
very popular young lady and highly
esteemisd; gibe was a member of the
MethOchst church choir. Her remains
were interred in BIS -teal cemetery on
Sunday last. A very large number of
friends and acquaintances turned out
to pay the last tribute of respect to the
departed. Much sympathy is felt for
the bereaved parents and family in the

MONSTER PICNIC, --The picnic held
on Wednesday in connection with the
R. O. church was a gratifying success
from first to la3t, and all who had to do
with it are to be congratulated on -the
result. The day was delightful, and
the large gathering just as non -denomi-
national as possible. The picnic was
held in Wallacea4 nova a short dis-
tance north of Westfield, and it was
an ideal place for the purpose, being
on the north bank of the river. Two
excellent meals were served -dinner
and supper -there being a superabund-
ance of eatables; the young people en-
joyed themselves ID dancing. Piper
McDonald, Winghten, with the "bags"

nosh, was ap scented chairman, and ad-

the person of Timothy Nolan, of Hui -
