DEA.TR.-We *regret to record the aleath of Albert Armstrong, who died in Toronto Hospital last Thursday. Mr ,Armstrong was tnail carrier between Ilipiesing and Potsawausa, when he met with an accident which caused his 'death. The funeral took place from the residence of Mr and Mrs Searle's on Saturday to Ball's cemetery and was largely attended. The horse had to be shot, and the doss will be heavy on Mr Adair, as the animal was a good one. Varna . Briqrs•-Misses Rachel and Anna Beatty spent their holidays in the for- est city. R. McCool, Drumbo, paid a -flying visit to Varna on the 21th, and also drove to Clinton and Seaforth, visiting relatives and friends. A good, old fashioned calathumpian procession -paraded the streets on the evening of the 23rd, and made things lively for a time. The crops look fine, hay and fall wheat being exceptionally good; ftuit promises a good crop. Charles Reid shipped another, carload of cattle to Toronto Tuesday.
