Many will remember Mr Theobald as a former hotel keeper here who died while a resident, and the late Mrs Theo - bald was his •third wife, formerly a Miss Hefferan, of Blyth. She was a faithful member of the Methodist church. Her survivors are two stn sons, George, of Mount Forest and J. B , of Oakland, Man. ; a step daughter, Mrs Coo, of. Fort William ; a.son Wes- ley, of Mount•Forest; one son was bur- ied here some years ago. ROUSE OF REFUGE.' NOTES.—Clerk W. Lane has called a .meeting of the House of Refuge. Committee at the Town Hall, Clinton, on Tuesday, Feb.. 12(13. 'At the .County Council meeting in Goderich' last week, several matters relating .to the French castle were dealt, with. One was fora giant to provide an organ for use durin g re- ligious services, and this was not out of the way. The clergymen and other Christian workers of bown rendered their services gratuitously, therefore a minister's •salary for this institution is not required to he met in the county expenses. An organ was badly needed; the•gentlernen who conducted the ser. vices appi eeiated an organ very much, in assisting in the singing, and the in- mates were delighted when' one was there, 'deeply regretting its removal; the Council doted a grant for this pur- pose.-T.-Another ur-pose: Another matter was the in- crease of the salary of Mr and Mrs French; their duties are numerous and onerous; and ate well performed: every little detail ,is well looked after by Wein.
