ON Tuesday of this week Albert
Sanderson, of the 13th of Mallett,
received a severe injury which
might have been serious, Be was
working with a crowbar on the
farm when it flew up and struck inn
on the cheek below the right' eye.
He drove to town where he secured
medical attendance,
THE STORM, -Last Monday even-
ing the electrical and wind storm
did great damage in the surround -
lag townships, besides trees being
blown down along with fences, etc.;
Joseph Taylor, of Hallett, had his
new brick house blown down, the
brickwork on this building had just
been completed ; B, Herrington's
new house had the front blown out;
Adam Elliott had a valuable horse
lolled. The barn of Mr. Cantelou
in Morris was struck and burned.
The citizens in town have no idea
what the storm was like in the
country.

tendered to Mrs Gidley each de-
parted for home feeling they had
enjoyed a very profitable as well as
pleasant afternoon.

THE Western Nair of London,
Ontero, will be held this year Sept,
11-19. Those who have been in the
habit of attending this exhibition in
the past will scarcely recognize the
grounds and buildings this year,
Over $7000 have been expended on
new buildings and additions, and
the whole have been painted white,
malting a very beautiful appearance,
being a complete "White City."
More accommodation has been pro-
vided for horses ; grand stands have
been built and other buildings ex-
tended and enlarged, so that al-
though it is expected this coming
exhibition will eclipse all others in
entries there will be ample room for
all exhibits, All information re-
girding the exhibition may be ob-
tained from the Secretary, A. Al,
Hunt, London, Ontario.

home of Mrs. Thompson, Albert, St.,
Clinton; was the scene of a very
pretty wedding on Wedeesday,
June 3rd, when her daughter, Vio-
letta Beatrice, became the bride of
Geo. E. hleTuggart, of Blyth. The
house was prettily decorated for the
event, the wedding ceremony being
performed by ltev. AL', Gonne, At
igh noon the bride wearing a bridal
veil and orange blossoms and carry -
ng a bouquet of lillies-of•the-valley
and maiden hair ferns entered the
mom on the arum of her brother
George, by whom she was given

march which was played by her

After the ceremony the wedding
party sat down to a sumptuous wed.

former resident of this county, hav-
ing taught school in the neighbor.

took an active part in church work.
After his arrest Anderson pleaded
guilty to the charge of bigamy. llis
wife, who is most highly esteemed
by her neighbors in Toronto, feels
very keenly the disgrace that has
been brought to their door.
