meeting of the Women's Auxiliary in
Clinton on Thursday of last week and
on her return home was taken very
ill. Mrs. Lovett is advanced in years
and has not been in good health, for
several months;

The measles are still prevalent in the
section and few households are escap-
ing.
Mr, J. IL Lowery has bought the old
Burns' farm for somewhere in the
ueighborliood of $2000, There - are
eighty acres in the lot and the build-
ings are good. We believe Mr, Lowery
intends moving on it right away, hut,
will continue in charge of his present
school for the balance of this year.
This lot is only about a utile . from the
Lowery homestead so that J.I1, will be
settling down near where he paddled in
the creek as a barefoot boy. If he suc-
ceeds in farming as well as he has in.
teaching we will hardly know. the place
in a few years.
Mr. James Laithwaite will build' a
silo on his big farm next season, but as
he has rented the place for ati term of
years the tenant will be • reaping the
