Fon Civic HOLIDAY. --The foUnw•
ing letter was received by the Clerk
of the town, A. Elder, and read at
the last Council meeting, which
speaks for itself. The idea, we
think, is a good one if no other or-
ganization wishes to hold a "big
day" for Civic Holiday. Dear Sir,-
I am directed by the executive of
Guelph's Old Home Week to call
your attention to the celebration we
are holding here during the first
week of August next ; and to re-
quest your cooperation, so far as
you can assist us, in arranging for
your Civic Holiday on Monday,
August 3rd. We foci that if your
holiday is held on the above date,
no doubt we would have large
crowds from your district, Thank-
ing you in advance for taking up
the above matter, and if possible ar-
ranging for stone, I remain yours
sincerely, J. AI. Struthers, Secretary,
