week and has been in a serious con-
dition, but her many friends will
hope for a speedy recovery.

Mr. Brad Win writes us that he has
been sick for the past six weeks
from a severe cold and followed by
nervous prostration. His many

On Tuesday of this week at Sea_
forth, the first annual convention of
Centre Huron was held and a full
delegation was there from the rid-
ing.
Wtn. Sinclair, of Brussels, presi-
dent pro tent, called the meeting to
order and a new constitution and
by-laws wore read and passed, Robt.
Holmes, of Clinton, acting as secre-
tary.
Letters were read from Al, G.
Cameron and Al, Y. McLean, M. P.,
Ottawa.
The officers elected were

date, and the nominations brought

65 votes, McMillan 63 and Kerr 50 ;
the second ballot was n tie, Proud.
