of this township, has purchased the
Walter Innes 100•acre farm, 4th line,
and will take possession on April let,
The present tenant is Elijah Pease,
Mr. McArter paid 83000 for the prop -
arty. We wish him well on his new
possession.

The action taken some time ago by
four of our citizens, against the water•
works by-law, came up at Osgoode Hall
on Thnreday, W. Proudfoot, K. Co
appeared for the town, and E. L. Dick-
inson, K. C., for the appelants, The
motion was dismissed with costs. We
understand tont the parties concerned
intend to appeal.
A snow plow and three engines from
Stratford last Thursday struck the
derrick oar of an auxiliary train which
had been repairing a disabled freight at
the "Y" and had for some reason pulled
out partly onto the stain line again.
Tho plough was thrown out partly onto
tho main line again. The plow was
thrown some distance onto its side,
and all three locomotives were ditched
and jammed together.
The death occurred on Wednesday
afternoon of a weld -known and highly
respected young lady of Clinton, Miss
Mary A. Wessman, in her 2tst year,
Her death was very sudden, though
not unexpected, as she had beets ill for
over a year with the dreaded white
plague, and had been gradually de-
clining, She was a popular young lady
and had many friends here, and it is
with the deepest regret that they hoar
of her sudden domiee, The funeral
took place on Friday to Clinton ceme-
tery,
Word was received here on Monday
of the dea'h of Mrs. Wesley M. Wilson,
of Winnipeg, which took place on
Thursday after an iliness of nine days
of pneumonia, The interment took
place on Saturday in St, James cense-
tory, Winnipeg, Mrs, Wilson will be
remembered here es Mies Rose Nim -
ons, sinter of \tri11 Nimona and niece of
Mrs, Thomas Kearns, She was mar-
ried in Clinton in September, 1005, and
left at once for Winnipeg. Her hus-
band and little daughter of four months
survive her. It ie a coincident that
Mrs. Wilson's mother also died in
February and on the 13th day of that
month,

Minutes of last meeting were read and
confirmed.
On motion of Conns. Shaw and Camp-
bell, the Clerk was instructed to solicit
toldersfor steel structures to replace
the Somerville bridge, estimates on two
60.foot spans nil one 110 -foo span, the
Council to choose between the two
plats. Tenders to his opened at the
Town Hall on March 30th at one
o'clock p. m.
The matter of the detachment of Si
lot 20, con, 3, frau 8. 8, No. 8 and en-
nexhng the same to S. S. No, 8 was
taken up and no objection to the pro-
posed change was made by any of the
interested parties.
It was moved by Coun. Taylor, sec-
onded by Coen. MrCetcheon, thatithtr

mud annexed to S. S. No, G,'+and that
the Clerk he instructed to prepare a

will be most benefitted by an increase

to bring about the desired end,
\Vhen the slump came in Ontario
wheat our millers began to exporitnent
with the various varieties of Canadian
grains. They spent thousands of dol-
lars trying to liar) some combination
in which Ontario wheat would be the
most important part. It took years of
careful and costly research to perfect
the blended flours. But the results
justified the trouble and expense,
Blended flours, which contain On-
tlrio wheat anti a little Western whet
are bettor and better for pastry than
any other. \Vint our fanners should
do—and must do if higher prices for
wheat al'e to be obtained—is to drop
Western patent flours and use blended
flours instead. 1f every fanner in
Ontario would boy blended flosses thew
