' Obituary. -It is with sorrow that we chronicle the demise of. Mr. James Smillie of this place which to* place last Friday morning. Deceased was born. in the province of Quebec in 11324 and Was thus in his 76th year. He wits 0 resident of the comity of Huron for about 44 years. He was a dian of line phYsioueand of more than ordinary energy and intelligence.Be threw hie whole heart and soul into his work and was generally quite ,,successv fel in every enterprise. He was a man of truth and integrity and corn - mended the respect and confidence of all good citizens. He was a member of St. 'Andrew's church, Hippen, and for many years • one of its oface-bear- ers. He was quite enthusiastic in his efforts to lesson the evils of the liquor traffic. All the members of his fan:My were present at the funeral, some of the'nocoming long distances. The ser - `dee and interment took place on Mon- day last and was largely attended.
