Canadian Bacon in England.
The London correspondent of the
Triode Bulletin, July 24, says: "Olea-
ginity is the prevailing characteristic
of the bitcon coming in from the Conti-
neut and from Ireland. Nineteen thott-,
sand hogs Slaughtered in Denwark
for last week's trade, and not enough
lean among the lot to provide the
buyers of London. Between seven

wants is [neat that will keep—that
will present a clean appearance to
the customer on a sweltering day.
Nothing to be had itnywhJ re does this
except Canadian. Arid the joke is
that agents put up prices oil any de-
cent lots from Ireland or Denmark
to such a height as to con,pel buyers
to look around. Such fatuity is good
for Canadian. Festina lente seems to
be the motto of the agents here for
the pea -fell sides, and prices are not
rubbed up. They simply hove along,
and go higher because of their inher-
ent quality. Not so long since I
opined that there wits no reason why
Canadian should not ggo. to 60s per cwt.
The price was then IAS. It hits got to

has been wanted in Whitby since Octo-

been identified as the rnan named

Whitby for larceny, and who knocked

the keys and escaped. Detective Gra-

he is not convicted. Jackson has ad-
