A GREAT TRFAT.-The members of
the Rattenhury street Methodist church
hall agreat treat last Sanday evening
when Gustav Henry Schoof preached.
By birth he is a German and left the
fatherland at 15 year's. He spent some
years on the frontiers of Western
America west of the Missouri river
and went, to Africa in 1888,'and served
on the Bechuanaland Border Police
from 1889 to 1891, where he held the
rank and acted as Sergt.-Major and
travelled over 10,000 males on horse
hack. fie was it member of the
fninous regiment that rode with Dr.
Jamieson into the Transvaal. His dis-
course indeed was a nitre treat, its was
also his lecture on Monday evening.
