SAD DRATH.-A very sad event took
glace at the residence of Mr. Jaynesnell, Malin street, Exeter, on Tuesday
night last. We refer to the sudden
death of Miss Josephine Ward, daugh-
ter of Mr. Thos. Ward, of St. Thomas.
The young lady had been in very poor
health and in hopes to improve her
condition came here about three°hveeks
ago. It, was thought the change was
having a beneficial effect until about
11 o'clock Tuesday night when she was
seized with a sudden and severe attack
of pulmonary hemorrhage and her
nature gave way, succumbing quietly
and almost imperceptibly to the dread
destroyer. Her loss will be greatly
deplored by her friends here. Under-
taker Kerr and Mr. Robt. Emsley
came up Wednesday morning and ac-
companied the remains to St. Thomas
where the funeral took place.
DEATH OF A GOOD YOUNG MAN.—The
people of Exeter and surrounding coury-
try were sadly surprised to learn of the
sudden taking off of Robt. C. Hodgson,
