OBSFRYI: THE LAW.—Mr. Editor,— Sir,-Aecording to law it is the duty of every citizen to clean off the sidewalk frouting his or her property within 21 hours. While quite it number do so, many do not and leave the snow on the walks for a long time. Then an axe is used and the walk destroyed. There are always a number of idle people in town during the winter months who would be glad to have something to do. Ten cents a lot for cleaning off the walks would bring many a poor man fair wages when there is nothing else doing. A great many taxpayers overlook the fact that through neglect in this respect they ]care themselves liable as well as the town in case of ac- liable The Inspec= for should see to it that the law is observed, and in accordance therewith also that the walkafronting vacant lots are {rept free frUm snow. -Yours, W.
