BUILD UP
When the system is run down, a person
becomes an easy prey to Consumption or
Scrofula. Many valuable lives are saved
by using Soott's Emulsion, as soon as de-
oline in health is observed.
Mr, Mason was himself once subjected to
a species of cross examination. Being in
Newport, a distinguished member of the
Rhode Island bar, who had never before
me him, had heard of his habit of asking
questions,
especially of new acquaintances,
and when presented to him, he determined
e fl w g with regard to tbie
to be first in the field e
particular qualification, and accordingly
began the conversation with a series of
questions. He asked Mr. Mason whether
he liked this, or whether he affected that,
and some of the questions were answered,
while others were parried. Finally the
interrogator said:
" Well, Mr. Mason, tell me what you do
like. "
Quick as a flash came the reply from
the great New Hampshire lawyer:
"Why, I like to sit in this chair and
flave a Rhode Island lawyer ask me ques-
tions. "
There were no more questions asked. -

able. Whittier was iii Cheshire, Devon,
Sussex, butnotwith the interpolating "1."
Many names are derived from trade. The
aristocratic "Tolliver," "Taillefer,"
"Talleferro," simply meant the French
