weeks' -visit on Saturday.
Miss Martha Wilson visited her

Shakespeare, over Labor Day.
Mr. P. Willows returned Satur-
day after spending a few days with
Toronto and Uxbridge friends,
Mr. and Mrs. Howard Hartry, of
Seafortb, were visitors in town the
guests of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. King, w
Mies Kelly, of Kenora, is renew-
ing old friendships in town. Miss
Kelly was a daughter of the late P.
Kelly and loft Blyth about 12 years
ago.

Morden, Mao., where he will spend

gannon, Goderich and Clinton.
Mr. Wtn. Mackay, Principal ot
Ilensail school, accompanied by his
wife and two children were the
guests of his uncle, Mr. Jos. Stothers
for a few days,

to the Old Country on Saturday
evening. Both look as if the trip
had done them good,
Mrs. Albert McTavish, of Detroit,
and two children, Johnny and Mary,
who were visitors at Mr. J. A.
Anderson's left on Tuesday for a
visit with friends in Cranbrook,
Mr. Jne. Cutt jr., went to Toronto
Saturday morning to attend the ex-
hibition hut took suddenly ill and
returned Monday. His friends are
glad to see that he is improving.
Birth Council.
The Court of Revision on side-
walks was held in industry hall on
August 20th with the Reeve in the
chair and Coons. I1111, Chellew,
Gerry and Johnston present.
No appeals were presented or ob-
jections raised as to laying of cement
sidewalks.
It was moved by L Hill, seconded
by J. H, Chellew, that the Court of
Revision be now closed,—Carried
A special meeting of the council
was held at the close of the court
with all the members present.
It was moved by J. H. Chellew,
seconded by L. Hill, that the Clerk
get tender notices printed for build-
ing cement sidewalks and crossings,
said tenders to be in the Clerk's
hands by Wednesday, Sept. 4th, at
eight p, m.- Carried.

The Board n! Exatuiners for the
County of Huron stet in Seaforth on
Saturday last for the transaction of
business. All the members were
present. D. Robb, B. A., I. P. S.,
was appointed chairman for the
year.
The following resolutions were
then passed :—
Resolved, that the candidates who
wrote at the Junior 'Peachere' or
Senior Teachers' Examination in
July and failed be allowed to attend
Model School in accordance with the
regulation of the Education Depart-
ment in 1906.
Resolved that students, be admit-
ted to the Model School who will be
eighteen year's of age on or before
the opening of the autumn term
next year.
Resolved, that students who failed
to write at the departmental exams•
nations in July on account of sick-
ness, but were recommended by the
principal of the collegiate they at-
tended as being sufficiently pre-
pared to write be allowed to attend
the model.
Resolved, that teachers whose
third•class certificates expire at the
end of the year may have a renewal
for a year and a half by passing the
final examination of the Model
School,
After some routine business the
board adjourned to meet again at
Sea forth in December.
