BUTTER & EGGS 'C76TA.NTF33 Wm. Xing, from Near Auburn, Commits Suicide in Blyth. The residents of Blyth were star- tled Friday morning when it was rumored that a man was found flanging at E. Livingston's cooperage works. The rumor was true. s rch. Tunney, as ho went to work that morning at 6 o'clock, found the body of Wm. Ring, a far- mer from near Auburn and well- known in Blyth, hanging front a beam at the cooper shop. The coro- ner, Dr. Milne, was notified but de- cided an inquest not necessary. The body was moved to Chellew's under- taking establishment, Deceased left home Tuesday of last week and went to Goderich, end came here Wednesday and left Thursday morning by the C. I'. R train for Guelph returning in the evening. He left the train and went to Livingston's electric iteht plant and stayed with John Nivins, the electrician, till he put out the lights, and walked to the road with him. They parted at the road, de- ceased stating that lie would go home, It is thought that he went to the coopershop and placed two bar- rels together and then ono on top, after which be hung the rope, and placing it around his neck knocked the buret away, Deceased ran a. furniture Store in Gerrie about 15 years ago and after• wards lived in Winghatn; and 10 or 12 years ago moved to the farm he left. He leaves a wife and two daughters to mourn his loss. As far its can be learned there is not the slightest cause for the action. The funeral en Saturday was largely attended, being under the auspices of the 0, 0. F. THE trout season closes Saturday. ARMSTRONG — Coontns,—A quiet but pretty wedding took place at the home of W. G. and Mrs- Coombs, Molesworth, the interesting sere• pony being performed by Rev. John Burnett on Wednesday, 14th inst., when their daughter, Miss Godetha M., was united in the holy bonds of matrimony to Wm. Crosby Armstrong. The bride, who was unattended, wore a white Swiss or- gandie gown and carried a boquet of flowers. The nuptial knot was tied beneath an arch of evergreens interwoven with variegated sweet peas. Their many friends here and elsewhere unite in expressing beat wishes to Mr. and Mrs, Armstrong WESTERN FAIR The Exhibition the People Like to Attend TEMPERANoE HOTEL AT RIPLPY.— The Royal hotel, Ripley, run for many years by John Putland, has been purchased by D. B. McLeod, of Southampton. The object of the purchase is to open up a temperance hotel for the accommodation of the public. Since local option came into force this house has been closed and there has been some complaint about accommodation, McLeod paid 34000 for the premises and the citi- zens bonus him to the extent of 8400 which will he applied to the pur- chase of furniture. It is stipulated that he shall give a free open shed, meals at 25 cents to farmers and hay and oats at current rates. Mr, and Mrs. Patin(' and family have now moved to 13elgrave. The Western Fair. The Western Fair, London, held tills year Sept. 6th to 14th, will without doubt be a great success. Entries aro coming io fast in all the departments. At the present time indications are that the horse ex- hibit will be very large. The .London hunt Club have kind- ly offered to exhibit the six couple of hounds and horses composing the Ihint team that won this class at the International horse Show at London, England, this year in competition with the world, The exhibition will be composed of four horses rid• den by the master, Hon. Adam Becic, the huntsman and two whips in the hunt colors, and will consist of horses in their exhibition of jump- ing exatetly as shown when winning the above prize. Mrs, Adam Beck has kindly consented to exhibit her harness ]gorses, carriages and ap- pointments as exhibited at the above show. This will certaini•y be a sight worth travelling miles to see.
