A strong commercial organization is the surest foundation of all for city building. The growth of most cities starts when the people finally learn this lesson. Some learn it at the start, and the town grows rapidly and con- tinuously. Others exist for years be- fore they learn why they do not go forward more rapidly. Goderich would today in all pro- bability be a city of 50,000 people if _ its citizens had taken the bit in their mouths and worked month in and month out and year in and year out - for growth and progress. The same opportunity exists today. Statistics in both the United States and Canada show that pore industries, especially branch industries, are being located in new communities than ever before in their history. The old in- dustrial centers cannot house their employees and haven't time to build new houses. They cant provide build- ings for new indu•srtes. They must expand by establishing branch factor -I ies. If we watt tilt Inc war is over to secure industries, we may wait a year or two too long.
