ALL THE COMFORTS OF HOME DURING BLYTH FAIR DAYS.
A SNAPSHOT OF A BLYTH RESIDENCE AT FAIR TIME,
During the days of Blyth fair last week every hotel and private residence in the village was more than taxed to its
,utmost capacity to accommodate the thousands of visitors who were in attendance. The snapshot above will give TnE
STANDARD readers R pretty good idea of the state of affairs that existed at almost every residence in the village during
the days of the great fair,
GREAT FAIR AT BLYTH.
The great Blyth fair has come and
gone. It was held• on Tuesday and
Wednesday of last week and was ono
At the most succeseful ever held by the
Morris Branch Agricultural society,
The weather was beautiful and the at-
tendance was very large. It is esti-
mated that between 6004 and TOW
people passed through the gates on the
second day, The total gate reeeipts
pt!ere nearly WO.
The liet of entries was not as large
gig some previous years, but the articles
,that were shown were of exceeding
;good quality and in many respects far
in advance of anything ever seen at
,any previous Blyth fair, The display
of ladies' work and fine arts was ex-
ceptionally good. The exhibit of horses,
sheep, pips and poultry was very good,
but the exhibit of cattle did not equal
former years. The grain exhibit was
also small. The fruit exhibit was large
and good, and the roots were never
better.
The speeding events were close and
last, and resulted as follows :—

day the 99rd regiment band delighted
all visitors with their excellent musk:.

tors.
Mr. Adam McKenzie had two of the
Singer sewing machines on exhibition.
He is the Blyth agent for the Singer,
and is a good one.
