It is stated nn gond authority that, the Imperial authorities will he asked to strike a special medal, and that the Dominion Government will make grants of land in addition. From every sectic n of the country comes reports of officials being dismiss- ed to make room for the Grit heelers of the Ottawa government. No office its too insignificant to escape the avar- ice of some small -caliber friend of the party. A sort of civil service Reign of Terror prevails, A Grit rooter sees an office he would like to have, and he denounces the occupant to the local "advisory board" of the riding; that body reports the victim a partisan to the "Committee of Public Safety" at, -Ottawa, and without further evidence or semblance of a trial the guillotine gets in its work.
