nominal; barley, feed, 42c to 44c; barley,

A farmer named Piche blew out the

about twelve years of age went skating

broke through the ice and was drown-

An Austrian named Dr. Marrnhrick,
after four years study at the Pasteur
Institute in Paris, claims to have dis-
covered a serum cure for erysipelas and
puerperal fever.
Dominion parliament will meet on
Thursday of this week, but an arrange-
ment has been arrived at between the
leaders on both sides that an adjourn-
ment shall he had until January the
7th.
Mr. R. S. White, ex -M, P. for Card-
well, is of the opinion that the election
of Mr. Stubbs was caused by the votes
recruited from the Liberal party, and
not by any defection to McCarthyism
from the Conservative ranks.
The Patrons and prohibitionists in
Manitoba have united for the provin-
cial elections, and will bring out joint
candidates. The main points of their
platfe rm are non-sectarian schools,
equal -suffrage, and prohibition of the
liquor traffic.
An interesting ceremony took place
in Trinity chnrh, Toront9,,last Thurs-
day night, when, for the first time in
the history of the Anglican Church in
Ontario, two young ladies were conse-
crated to the office and work of Dea-
coness by the Bishop of Toronto-
' A very happy event took place at the
residence of Mr. Jas. Murray Town-
ship Treasurer of Tuckersmith 'Wednes-
day, being the marriage of his daughter
Agnes to A. G. Smillie, the • popular
Clerk of Tuckersmith. The bride was
handsomely attired and looked ehatr-
ing, whilst the groom, as his name im-
plies, looked as though enjoying ft, Fore-
