MONTREAL LIVE STOCK MARKETS.
Seventy-three carloads of Butchers' cattle ar-
rived in Montreal during the past three days all
of which were offered for sale at the East Bind
Abattoir, on Monday. The butchers were out
in orowde, and were well pleased to see such an
abundant supply, but the drovers looked rather
despondent, and though some of them asked
pretty high prices they would gladly accept
much lege. Up to 10 o'clock very little business
was done. After 10 the cattle began to go off,
but not very fast and at low prides. Choice
Easter beeves sold at from 410 to 4to per lb; sup-
ers steers sold at from no to 4e per 113: pretty
good stook at from 3e to 3io do. There were
very few of the common and interior beasts
sold. There were about 600 calves 'offered,
about a dozen of which wore large animals from
two to three months old, and from $14 to 525
asked for these. One of the best was sold or
20. The other calves eold,fromr$1.60 to $8 eaoh,
few yearling sheep in fair condition were sold
at 414) pc r lb. There were about 25 spring lambs
offered, audlMr MoDuff Lambe bought eight of
them, paying from $3.75 to, $6 each. Fat hogs
were rather plentiful, and Bold at from 310 to
4c per lb.
