The case of Mrs. William Irvine, of St. John, N. B., was a sad one, and caused her fancily and friends great anxiety for a time. Overwork, watch- ing, loss of sleep and intense agony from kidney trouble made life almost unbearable. Effort after effort with medicines and doctors' prescriptions proved futile. The grave and its terr- ors were becoming mote realistic, and death'shand seemed to be'firmly fasten- ed -on the victim of disease. There flashed a bright inspiration,- Paine's Celery Compound 1 -it thought of a medicine that had wrought wond- ers for others. The marvellous life- giving medicine was used, and the re- sults are briefly set forth in Mrs. Irvine's letter as follows :- "I think it a great pleasure as well as a duty to put on record what Paine's Celery Compound has done for me. 1 have been troubled for the last ten years with kidney complaint, and have tried a great many preparations and doctors'Iprescriptions, but with little or no benefit. For the last six months 1 have had a great strain upon my system from night -watching and overwork. I was breaking down ; my friends said, "I was going fast to death." I resolved to try your Paine's Celery Compound, and used four bottles. My kidney trouble disappeared ; nervousness and sleep:essnessare troubles of the past, and my general health is greatly improved. In a word, I am cured and I wish you to publish this so that the world can read tt. Mr. John Boyle, of Guelph, is at pre- sent looking rafter the interests of the rented property on the 4th con. About 6 o'clock in the rnorningThomp- son got up and started a fire in a box stove, then returned to hed and fell asleep again. After runninga short distance his feet started to freeze. Returning, all he could find to clothe himself with was an apron and two pieces of women's garments which he tied around his feet and head. Starting out again he strug- gled forward to within 100 yards of the house, when he fell down almost frozen. Fortunately he was seen as he fell and carried into the house. A very successful examination was held in S.S. No. 2, on Friday, Dec. 21st. The school room was tastefully dec- orated for the occasion. A great nutny friends and parents were present to hear the programme which was ably rends ed by the pupils and showed that Mr. Hamilton has been very painstak- ing in his endeavors to increase their knowledge. At noon a line lunch was served to the visitors to cheer the inner man. Mr. A. Wetherall, successor to Mr. Hamilton, was present on the oc- casion and has already imprinted a favorable impression on the people of the above section and will do so if he comes up to the high standard of his well esteemed predecessor. At the close of the examination Mr. Hamilton was presented with a handsome gold watch chain and a pair of cuff -buttons which goes to show that his services were fully appreciated. The aver age planter has but little use for finely spun theory, whether it per- tains to the relation of his condition t,o politics or whether it deals with the best ways and means of growingthe best crops. What he wants is acts. No one 1uas realized this more than the great seed firm of D. M. Ferry & Co., Windsor, Ont., who for forty years have been studying the wants and con- dition of planters, large and small. and as a result have created the largest seed business in the whole world. Without doubt, a strict adher- ence to the policy of dealing in facts re- presents the secret of their success. They know their seeds are right before they are sent to the many thousand dealers from whole the planter gets them. The dealer knows this tope a fact, requiring no further question. and the planter finds it to be a Substantial fact when harvest time comes. Another illustration of the value of this method is found in Ferry's Seed Annual, in which there is nothing but facts. Facts that prove of the greatest value to every planter; facts about how, when and where to plant, that can be had from no other source. There are no worthy facts left out, and no unworthy theories let in . This hook is sent free to every one who asks for it. A postal card with your name and address sent the flrm will bring it to you.
