Mr A. O. Jeffery, the new High Chief

New York where an effort is to be made to
use it for actual commercial purposes in
the delivery of commodities. If the new
conveyances can stand the jottings and the
rough usage of travel through the streets of
American metropolis, their fulfilment of
most urban requirements for street ve-
hicle will have been demonstrated.

MONTREAL LIVE STOCK MARKETS
Business in live stock was very dull on ac-
count of the holiday. There were about 450
head of butchers cattle, 150 calves and 1,000
sheep and, lambs offered for sale at the
East End and,
The cool, bracing wea-
ther had scarcely any effect upon a rather
dull market and prices continue without ma-
terial change since last week. A few bead
of Manitoba cattle were held at 4c per Ib,
but 3c per lb was about the highest Flee
paid for butchers' cattle during the early
part of the day, pretty good stock selling at
from 3te to 30; common dry cows and
thrifty young cattle at from 'lie to 3c, and
the leaner beastsat about 2c per lb. Calves
are pretty numerous for this time of the
year. Good large calves sell at from $6 to
$9 each, and common ones at from $2.50 to
$5 each. Shippers are paying from 3}c to
31e per lb for good large sheep. Good
lambs sell at from 31c to 3/c per lb; some
of the poorest specimens of the lambs were
offered at $1 each. Fat hogs are dull of
sale and prices aro declining, being from 41c
to 5c per lb for fed hogs.

Notice is hereby given that I have transmitted
or delivered to the persons mentioned In sections
6 and 6, of the Ontario ,Voters' List Act, 1889, the
copies required by said sections to be so trans-
mitted, or delivered of the list made pursuant to
said Act, of all persona appearing by the last re-
vised Assessment Roll of the said Municipality,
to be entitled to vote In the said Municipality at
Elections for Members off the Legislative Assem-
bly, and at Municipal Elections; and that said list
was Hirst posted up at my office, at Bayfield on
the 30th day of August, 1895, and remains glare
for inspection. Electors are called uppon to ex-
amine the sa,d list, and, if any omissions or any
other orrcrs aro found therein, to take immediate
proceedings to have the said errors corrected ac-

Stock Taking Sale.
