On and after MONDAY, SEPT, 2nd, 1895, our business will be conducted on a Strictly Cash Basis and for the balance of our time in Clinton "THE FAIR" will be known as a house where the people buy and trade for cash or produce only. EW ERA. After consulting with a number of our credit customers, we. find there is, a growing feeling in favor of doing business ou the CASH Ml '$TV11, and the public will welcome the change, provided we sallow a substanttall re, duction in the prices. We wish to make this 'so well underetood'b r everybody, that it will not be necessary to refuse credit,,as it will not he wir We believe a cash business will be mutually beneficial. Every person is looking for the cheapest market to buy in, and where goods are sold on credit cannot be the cheapest place. Neither oan a cash and credit busi• ness be the cheapest, although cash customers may get a discount, yet the credit price is always asked, and even with the discount off, the prices are not so 1,w as they would be if the business was strictly cash. it is. an undoubted fact that the man who sells the cheapest is the man who sells for cash Buying where credit is not given, Customers get their, goods at the lowest figure. They are paid for when got, and there is no long bill to settle at the end of the year. Remember- On MONDAY, SEPT. 2nd, a general mark down will take place throughout our en- tire get the prices down to A SPOT CASH LEVEL and all new goods received from that date will be marked a LOWER FIGURES THAN IF WE HAD NOT DECIDED ON MAKING THIS CHANGE. LII.aEiOY" do WISE1VIA.N. STOMACH NEURALGIA. INTERESTING FACTS ABOUT THIS PECULIAR TROUBLE. A PEMBROKE LADY WHO SUFFERED FOR EIGHT YEARS GIVES THE PARTICULARS OF HER ILLNESS, AND TELLS HOW SHE OBTAIN- ED RELIEF. From Pembroke Standard, The grateful thanks o! thousands in all parte of the Dominion who have been made well is the best evidence of the sterling merit of Dr. Williams' Pink Pills for Pale People. We suppose there is not City, town or village in Canada in which the good record of this health giving medicine is not known, and Pembroke is no exception to the rule. Among those who speak of Dr. Williams' Pink Pills in terms of the high- est praise is Mrs Founier, wife of Mr Peter Founier, both of whom are held in high esteem by those who know them. To a reporter who recently visited their home Mrs. Fournier gave a plain unvarnished statement of her illness and cure. "It is now about eight years," she said,"since I began to grow ill with a pain in my back, stomach and side, and the amount of suf- fering which it caused me oan scarcely be realized. As the days and months passed by I began to grow weaker' and I was sel- dom free from the intense pains. At last I grew so weak that I was obliged to take to my bed, and even then suffered from the pains which weremaking my life so miser- able. My appetite failed me and I,fearcd' that I was doomed to be an invalid. Dur- ing those days I was under the care of -a skilful physician, but his medicines did me no good. He said that my trouble was neuralgia or rheumatism of the stomach. It was during those dark days, as I lay an almost helpless invalid, that a friend strong- ly urged me to try Dr. Williama' Pink Pills. Although I had little faith in their efficacy at the time, I consented to try them. After using a few boxes I began to feel my- self growing stronger and the pains leaving me. 1 continued their use till 1 bad used a dozen boxes, and now you can see for your- self whether I look like a sick person or not. The pains in my stomach, side and back, have ceased to trouble me and I have not been as well in eight years as I feel now. My appetite which was so poor at one time is now fully restored, and I am confident that not only have Pink Pills cured me but that they have saved me from misery and pain I would have otherwise been enduring. Mr Fournier, who was present at the inter- view, fully endorsed all his wife had said. Dr. Williams' Pink Pills make pure, rich blood, thus reaching the root of disease and driving it out of the system, curing when other medicines fail. Most of the ills af- flicting mankind are due to an impover- ished condition of the blood, or weak or shattered nerves, and for all these Pink- Pille aro a specific which speedily restore the sufferer to health. These pills are never sold in any form except in the com- pany's boxes, the wrapper round which bears the full name "Dr. Williams' Pink - Pill a for Pale People." All others are counterfeits and should always be refused. Get the genuine and be made well. The Grand Black Chapter (Orange )of British America met last Monday in Hali- fax. The Most Worshipful Grand Master, Sir Robert Weir, in his address, said it • was the duty of each of them to do all in their power to defeat the proposed reme- dial legislation for Manitoba by bringing what influence they could to bear on their representives, and by pledging all candi- dates for Parliamentary honors in future to use their voioee and votes for the mainten- ance of the Public schools system through- out the Dominion. There is little new in the local situation. Shippers are doing very little and prices continue to sag. Butchers were pay- ing from 21 to 3i c for the average cattle, with a fair demand at these prices. Hogs were about steady at 5c and sheep were quiet at 3i to 31c, the later for finest. Lambs were quint at 82.25 to $2.50, and caves at 82 to $5 according to quality. MONTREAL HORSE MARKET. Trade at the Point SLCharles Horse Exchange theast week was about as dull as it possibly could be. Shippers have been operating very cautiously,in fact their purchases the past week have amounted to practically nothing. Advices from'the other side have for the most part been of nn unfavorable nature and offered little in- ducement to shippers. In a local way trade has also been very slow, the demand for driv- ing and work horses being at a standstill. The feeling,: however, is that theresvill be .an im- provement in the near future, and in anticipat- ion of this prices were well maintained 0 0 y a 0 U m W z w PO e 4. m 0 y M mE m am 5 A Shorthand College, 8 0A c m F w 5 w Q m z,2co v° CB rein' al U ..m p<C., 4 rN The Finest °. ti PHOTOGRAPHS v) are taken by O IL H.
