Miss Robina Henry, a bright Canadian girl from St. Stephen, N. B., has just gra- duated M. D. at the head of a class of 54 at Hohneman's Medical College, Chicago, She lead them ell. She is an arts graduate of the University of New Brunswick, at Fredericton. Messrs. Bougard & Ruttan, two noted horse buyers at Picton, have just shipped fourteen fine horses o s for Scotland, They have a contract for no less than 1,000 Cana- dian ana dian horses for Scotland, and have already forwarded over 300. Their purchases are nearly all in Prince Edward county. The Chicago Canadian American says:— Benson Sherman, a Canadian printer, who came from Goderioh, Ont., died last week in the pest house, from the worst form of small -pox, Thomas Morgan, another printer from Orilla, Ont., had better for- tune, having been discharged a few days since cured, from the same dread disease. But one-half the Catholic population of the Province uses Separate schools. There would have been fewer Separate schools in Ontario if Mr. Meredith and his friends had not in recent years conducted a propa- ganda intended to decrease the efficiency of these schools, with the object of stiring up sectarian .prejudice against Sir Oliver Mowat. At the East End cattle market there was a large attend- ance of farmers, butchers and live stock deal- ers. The offerings of stock Were not as large as has been the case for some weeks past, but business was fairly brisk. In the way of cattle there were some 400 bead offered most of which readily found purchasers, the ruling prices being about the -same as last week. (hllls realized 3c, while medium quality and good butchers realized 33c to 3tc, while a few choice stock sold at lc. The flat sales of ex- port cattlo for this season took .place at the above yards.
