Benson Sherman, a Canadian printer, who
came from Goderioh, Ont., died last week
in the pest house, from the worst form of
small -pox, Thomas Morgan, another
printer from Orilla, Ont., had better for-
tune, having been discharged a few days
since cured, from the same dread disease.
But one-half the Catholic population of
the Province uses Separate schools. There
would have been fewer Separate schools in
Ontario if Mr. Meredith and his friends
had not in recent years conducted a propa-
ganda intended to decrease the efficiency of
these schools, with the object of stiring up
sectarian .prejudice against Sir Oliver
Mowat.
Freddy Williams, 10 years old, son of
Adrian Williams, Toronto, fell on the
roadway while returning from school Mon-

though no bones were broken.
The marriage of cousins, which is com-
monly supposed to be attended by some
danger, has no terrors for the Royal Fami-
ly. The Queen and the Prince Consort oc-
cupied that relation to one another,
but their children apparently suffered nei-
ther in mental nor bodily from their con-
sanguinity, and their grandchildren have
displayed a weakness for emulating their
example and marrying one another. Prince
Henry of Prussia, a son of the Princess
Victoria, is married to the daughter of the
Princess Alice, and the latest royal marri-
age celebrated recently at Coburg, was be-
tween children of the Duke of Edinburgh
and Saxe -Coburg Gotha, and his sister the
Princess Alice.
