Hallowe'en with all its funny features
has rolled passed with its usual decor-
um. A few youthful brains, and
farmers' gates were unhinged to cele-
brate the. occasion .
Fanners are making food use of the
fine weather for ploughing.
Organization meetings in the inter::
ests of the temperance cause are to be
held in Blake's and St. Helen's churches
on Wednesday and Thur•sdaseevenings
respectively. All who love Canada and
Canadians should attend.
Autumn leas -es are likely to be
mingled with Orange blossoms.
Mr. Chas. Durnin, of Nebraska, paid
us a short visits on his way to Colling-
wood.
The Allan S. S. Numidian, which
conveyed our esteemed citizen, Mr.
Hugh McCrostie, across the Atlantic,
arrived safely at her Liverpool dock on
Monday, p. n1,
The question that every farmer and
mechanic should propound is "How
shall 1 best spend my winter nights, so
that the spring of 1891 may find me
better developed, physically, intellec-
tually end morally."
