the Srd some nme years ago for that

acres put soon found that too small for
his growing family of .four boys. So
about, fotir years ago he sold it and pur-
chased the Maple Valley Stock Farm,
containing 245 "acres for the good sum
of $11,500. Last year he hacl 5000
bushels of corn and this year he has
140•acres in corn alone. His stock at
present consists of 19 horses, 75 head of
cattle and abort 100 hogs. Mr. Gray
gives glowing accounts of the prosper-
ity of that state but says that he does
not want his friends to think that
every one has met with the satire good
luck that he hacl. He would not advise
any person who is doing well here to
leave for' that state with the hope of
n?aking a fortune in a short time. .
