—D. F. Cameron, of North East -
hope, had a severe and prolonged con-
fliet on the farm of his neighbor, Wm.
Maze, with a collie dog. Ile was take
ing a short cut across the field towards
Maze's house, when the animal rushed
at him, attacking 11i10 in front. The
dog jumped at his throat, mill tore his
vest rand pants, but did not succeed in
fastening upon him. The conflict was
kept up for over an hour. Mr, Cam-
eron slowly made his way, facing the
dog all the time to a stump SOME, dis-
tance where there happened to be
a hand spike. Ile got on the top of
the stump. The people on the farm,

the dog at length retreated. The dog
