We mark onr goods down to a bare -living profit, and have but one price. We do not advertise any Big Discount Sale in order to draw lrade, for every intelligent person knows what that means. When a firm advertises in that way, it is quite easy to understand what they do; they simply add to the regular price the percentage they intend taking off. This is a fact that has been proven in the so-called Great Discount Sales. When buying, don't simply look at the discount offered, but deduct that discount from the regular price, and then compare it with the prices of others. If you call on us we can show you the best assortment of Furni- ture in the County, and our prices are as low as the lowest. JOSEPH CHIDLEY FURNITURE DEALER AND UNDERTAKER. JOS. The shipment of apples from this port to the United Kingdom the past week amounted to 12,825 barrels, making the total to date this sea - on 42,243. The contrast between this season sio cia and that of a year ago is marked in this rspect. The returns up to Nov. 4 last year, show a total ;10 shipment from Montreal of 300,611 barrels. But from Coney Iialand, New York and London, and a request wag made by the Antwerp exposition for its removal and operation there next summer. None of the bids were considered satisfactory and for the present the wheel will remain in Chicago. There is a very good reason for the falling off in the apple shipments this year. There is not the erop, in the first place, and even if there had been a large crop it is doubtful if it would have been required on the other side. There are plenty of English apples. A recent advice says that the country is blocked with common and green fruit, but there is a shortage of tine color- ed table apples. It is only the latter sort that Etre being shipped from this side at present. AGENTS:WANTED AT ONCE --- To take orders. Salary or Commission; steady work, prompt pay. Mr. HOPE NUESEBIE13.
