OLOSE FIouRINe—.The Public School Board asked for tenders for the erec- tion of closets, and opened the same on Monday evening. It shows how close- ly work is crit when it is stated that between the highest and lowest out of the four tenders received, there was only a difference of $7, and there was only a difference of $1 each between three. The contract was awarded to Mr S. S. Cooper at $258. The new closets will be built on the best sani- tary principles, and while the outlay looks large, it is better that a good and proper expenditure be made, and the work well done, than that the health of four hundred pupils should he en- dangered. What are a few dollars compared with life. The Board, we believe, is acting wisely and in the very best interests of the ratepayers.
