On Saturday, Mr S. 8. Cole, of Constance,
while fixing his saw mill had a fire; by some
means a coal was dropped in the mill near
the carriers. On Sunday one of his men,
J. Carrick, took a walk around and discov-
ered the fire and took prompt means of ex-
tinguishing it. Had the saw dust been dry
the mill would have been in ashes before
Sunday morning.
Many of our readers will regret to learn
that Dr. Elliot has decided to remove from
Brncefield, and intends going to Chicago,
where he will pursue the practice:of his pro-
fession. Dr. Elliot has been there for up-
wards of nine years, and during that time
his genial, unassuming manner has won,him
a large circle of warm friends, while his
skill as a physician has secured him a prac-
tice such as few practitioners outside of the
large centres enjoy. He intends going to
Chicago about the 1st of May. Dr. Elliot's
successor will be Dr. Armstrong, a young
gentleman who is not a stranger to onr?peo-
ple, as he is a native of the township of
Stanley.

MEN'S and Bpw
Ready Made SUITS
Now here we feel at borne --this is
where we shine, because we're in it.
Remember, mothers, it's the boys that
make the men; don't be hard on them,
don't keep them down, allow their spirit
to rise up and bubble and overflow as
much as ever you can, for in a few
years they will all have settled down to
the sterner realities of life; and above.
all see that they are nicely, not too ex.
pensively clothed. We do not believe
in putting the best on boys, they are
such terrors to wear out stuff that such
a thing would be folly, yet you can get
just as nice and serviceable a Suit as
you would wish to see your boy wear,
at this store, for the lowest figuresyou
ever heard of. Fancy a real neat Suit
well made and good material for only
$1.50. Then a little nicer and better
for $2, and a little better still for $2.50
and still stronger and better for $3, and
now since this store has become head-
quarters for Men's and Boys'. Clothing,
they are all coming here for their Cloth-
ing. Just see here, Men's Fine Navy
Serge Suits only $5.50, better $6.50.
Fine Tweed. Suits $6.50, better $8, still
better $9'.50. Fine Blk. Worsted Suits
$10.50 and so on up as high as you
wish to go.
