OYSTERS. --The wholesale price of o-
sters has considerably increased of late
and the retail price hasone up in pro-
portion. This will he ill news to the
lovers of this mollusk. The unusual
cold, extending even as far south as
Maryland, from whose waters the sup-
plies are chiefly.obtained% has frozen
the oyster boats at their wharves and
ice floes effectually prevent dredging,
while the supples laid up in shallow
waters near the shore for such emer-
gencies are also frozen in.
DON'T BE A CLAM.—A man can skip a
meal occasionally without suffering
much inconvenience. But if he tries to
worry along without a local paper, his
ignorance of the happenings in his im-
'a mediate neighborhood makes him the
laughing stock of his more intelligent
and enterprising neighbors. There are
annoying interrogation points, con-
stantly inquiring what is going on, the
price of grain, .when the council will
meet, what became of so and so, who
ata elected, and a score of other ques-
'• UMW that are answered every week in
lie columns of a live local paper. No

WHERE ARE YOU
MOVING TO?
We are going to Chippewa
Co., Michigan, near Sault Ste
Marie.
Why do you go there ?
Well, we have five boys,
we have sold the farm for $5,-
000. We can buy 640 acres
between Pickford and the Rail-
road Station at Rudyard, and
have a good farm for each of
the boys and have money left.
What can a renter do there?
He can buy a farm on five
years time, and pay for it with
one fourth of the money he
would pay for rents in that
time, and own his own home.
Is it good land?
As good as any in Huron Co. Ex-
cellent for Oats, Peas, Wheat, Clover,
Timothy, Potatoes and all kinds of
roots. Prices are as good as any on
the lakes, owing to the nearness of
the mines and lumber woods to the
westward.
What class of people live there?
They are nearly all from Huron
Co. You moot there so many old
neighbors that you can hardly bo-
lieve you have left home.
I want to see that land. . Who bas.
it for sale? Inquire of
