parts of Canada. I have mad so much of
the greet suooese of Dr WilliamsPink Pills
for Pale People that I determined to give
them a trial for nervotts troubles. I so-
oordingly went to a drug store to prooure
supply. On asking the druggist for the
phis he took down a glass jar and proceed-
ed to take out the quantity, "But," said
I, "Dr. Williams' Pink PIlle are not sold
in bulk and that cannot be them." "0,
yes, it fs," said the dealer; "we always get
them in bulk and sell thein that way." I bad
read Altesseistitiens of the proprietoreAgstshSS
• effectsthat these pine Vete never gold in
bulk, and thinking they should know best,
deolined taking them, and left the store.
My next experience was no more fortunate.
• Again pills pink in collar to imitate the
genuine, were offered me. When I re-
monstrated this dealer admitted the pills
were not supplied him by the Dr. Wilhelm'
Co., but deolared that they were just the
mime. And yet, for the sake of a little more
profit he would have imposed them on me
for the genuine Pink Pills had I been less
(=Uwe. As I left the store, I thought the
repeated warning against imitations given
by the Williams Co. must be the result of
bitter experience on tkeir part. But I did
not expect I would meet with three dishon-
est dealers (do you think the term is too
strong?) in succession. When I asked for
Dr Williams' Pink Pills he said he had
them, and then produced a package which
I saw at a glance bore another name, and
which he insisted were just as good. I de-
olined taking them, and turned to leave the
dote, when the druggist offered to give me
the genuine pills. But I did not feel that
I ought to patronize a man Who would have
imposed something else on me had I been
less guarded, and declined buying. 1 al-
most despaired getting the genuine Pink
Pills unless I sent to headquarters; but on
my visit to the fourth drug store I was
more successful, and was at once handed
the genuine Dr Williams' Pink Pills. No
doubt, Mr Editor, my experience is that of
manyothers, and no doubt hundreds less
cautious are constantly being deceived. I
think the newspapers ought to do do some-
thing towards protecting their readers from
frauds of this kind. We frequently read of
reporters doing clever detective work, etc.,
visiting churches in the garb of the lowly,
and then writing up their reception. Here
is a new field for them. Let some clever
reporter travel the length and breadth of
this city in humble guise, and see how many
dealers are honest_enough-to-give-him-w ha
he asks for without trying to impose a sub-
stitue upon him.
I trust, Mr Editor, you will give thiu a
place in your columns, as it may serve to
prevent some one else from being cheated.

' "Nothing succeeds like success," and
nothing more quickly insure success than
true merit. For fifty years, Ayer's Sar-
saparilla has maintained its popularity as
the superior blood purifier. It stands
upon its own merits and never fails to give
satisfaction.
In the limited space between Worth
street and the Battery, New York,
where there are many large whole-
sale houses, it is stated that 15,000 wo-
naen are etnployed as typewriters. A
single typewriting machine company
finds emplopment through its various
offices, for 10,000 women a year.
In all imitations of the Myrtle Navy to
brim yet attempted, either inferior stock
has been used or the plug has been made a
trifle lighter in weight. The latter defect
is apt to escape the attention of the con-
sumer until he find e that he is smoking a
greater number of plugs than before. The
Myrtle Navy is made three plugs to the
pound and each plug is carefully weighed.

Cures Others
Will cure You, is a true statement of
the action of AYER'S Sarsaparilla,
when taken for diseases originating in
impure blood; but, while this assertion
is true of AYER'S Sarsaparilla, as
thousands can attest, it cannot be truth-
fully applied to other preparations, which
unprincipled dealers w111 recommend,
and try to impose upon you, as "just as
good as Ayer's." Take Ayer's Sarsa-
parilla and Ayer's only, if you need a
blood -purifier and would be benefited
permanently. This medicine, for nearly
fifty years, has enjoyed a reputation,
and made a record for cures, that has
never been equalled by other prepara-
tions. AYER'S Sarsaparilla eradicates
the taint of hereditary scrofula and
other blood diseases from the system,

Sarsaparilla
"1 cannot forbear to express my joy
at the relief I have obtained from the
use of AYER'S Sarsaparilla. I was
afflicted with kidney troubles for about
six months, suffering greatly with pains
in the small of my back. In addition to
this, my body was covered with pimply
eruptions. The remedies prescribed
failed to help me. I then began to take
AYER'S Sarsaparilla, and, in a short
time, the pains ceased and the pimples
disappeared. I advise every young
man or woman, in case of sickness
resulting from impure blood, no matter
how long standing the case may be, to
take AYER'S Sarsaparilla." --H. L. Jar -

RHEUMATISM
It is a well known fact that medical science
has utterly failed to afford relief in rheumatic
cases. We venture the assertion that although
Electricity has only been In use as a remedial
agent for a few years, it has cured more oases
of Rheumatism than' all other meaus com-
bined. Some of our leading physicians, recog-
nizing this fact, are availing themselves of this
most potent of nature's forces.
TO RESTORE MANHOOD
Thousands of people stiffer from a variety of
nervous diseases. such as Seminal Weakness,
Impotency, Lost Manhood, -Weak Back, etc.,
that the old modes of treatment fail to cure
There is a loss of nerve force or power that
cannot be restored by medical treatment, and
any doctor who would try to accomplish this
by any kind of drugs is practising a dangerous
form of charlatanism. Properly treated
THESE DISEASES CAN BE CURED
Electricity, as applied by the Owen Electric
Belt and Suspensory, wiil most assuredly do
so. It is the only known remedial agent that
will supply what is lacking, namely, nerve
force or power, impart tone and vigor to the
organs and arouse to healthy action the whole
nervous system.

A pitiful spectacle was that of Sir Adolphe
Caron standing up court and freely ac-
knowledging having accepted twenty-five
thousand dollars in cash from one man,
and having himself lugged off that large
amount in bank notes for political pur-
poses. The money came from Beemer, a
Government contractor, who charged up a
part of it in his basks to Sir A. P. Caron
using his initials in the entry. Sir A. P.
Caron swears that he supposed it came
from Senator Ross' who handed it to him,
and who had promised that amount to him.
Senator Ross is dead ; but is it to be sup-
posed for ono moment that an honorable
man would lead a Minister of the Crown
to believe that the subscription of twenty-
five thousand dollars came from another
person, altogether? It ie clearly established
cthat the money did not come from Senatbr
Ross but from the contractor Roemer, as
Mr ROSS' successor swears there are no en-
tries of such paymentsin Mr Ross' business
books. Sir A. P. Caron, however, has
confessed in effect that he is a boodler,
that is, he accepted with his own hands
twenty-five thousand dollars which came
from persons interested in public works
receiving favors. He knows well that such
monies were used to corrupt the con-
stituencies. Sir Adolphe Caron tells how
Sir Hector Langevin,, Mr Thomas _Mc-

three, with McGreevy as treasurer, for the
distribution of these elected funds, which
were paid out in such large sums to the
