$250,000 PAID FOR A HALF INTEREST IN THE
TRADE MARK OF DR. WILLIAMS' PINK
•
PILI,S you, 214! BMW) STATES. •
The brilliant reputation, achieved by Dr.
Williams' Pink Pills iii Canada has not only
extended to the U,nited States, but has led
to an important bupinees transaction. One
of the best known Ameriaan 'proprietary
medicine houses, the head of whtoh is the
president of a leading ,National Bank in
New York fittate, has recently purchased a
half interest in the trade mark of the Dr.
Williams Medicine Co. for the United
States only, for which, we understand, the
consideration was ii20Q,000.. This sale is
probably the flrEiti instance in Which an
American institution bas purchased an in-
terest iu a Canadian, remedy, e.nd offers the
very best proof of the sterling merits of Dr.
Williams' Pink Pills, as we may he sure
that the American capitalists, before ven-
turing so large a sum in the half intereat of
the trade mark, fully investigated and veri-
fied the claims made for the remedy. It is
a tribnte, too, to Canadian medical science,
which has brought to perfection this re.
markable medicine.
MURDER AT RAT PORTAGE.
--
A man reported to the police that he
had discovered the dead body of a wo-
man lying on Tunnel Island, a short
distance from the water. A constable
in company with the man went over to
the island and found that the body was
that of a woman who had evidently
met with foul _play. The deceased
went there from Winnipeg last sum mer
and worked for some time in a restaur-
ant. She was then a widow, calling
herself Mrs Mundy. Since going there
she was married to a man named
Ostrander, who is at present working
in camp on the Rainy River. The wo-
man reached there from that place a
day or two ago, and is known to have
had money in her possession just before
she met with her death.
HAMILTON, April 20, 1892.
t, I was doctoring for y ears with physicians for a scaly
and scurvy affliction of the scalp, they told me it was
eczema, but gave me no permanent relief. I was
also troubled with excessive dandruff, which would
drop from my head like snow flakes. Hearing of
Anti -Dandruff I used it, and from the thin) appli-
cation felt more relieved than for years ; when half
the -bottle -was -used -the -eczema and -scaly aruptien,
disappeared ani have not returned since ; dandruff
was thoroughly rernoved, the itching of the healp
stopped, and fox- an elegant, clean and useful hair-
dressing Anti -Dandruff has no equal.

Everywhere the tendency has been
to sepasate religion from morality, to
set in opposition even. But a religion
without morality- is a superstition and
a curse; and anything like an adequate
and complete morality without religion
is impossible. The only salvation for
man is in the union of the two as
Christainity unites them.— [Mark Hop-
