DEAR Ma. Cr.IIFF, Superintendent of
St. James Church S. S.
We the members and friends of St.
James Church S. S. take this oppor-
tunity of gathering together to ten-
der to you our most heart -felt thanks
and appreciation of your work as
Supt. of our S. S. Several years
have already rolled away since you
first took the position but during
that time your zeal and faith in S. S.
work wavered not, even when things
,looked discouraging you were most
untiring in .your. arduous. task. If
there were children in the vicinity
who did not attend any S. S. you
were always on band to invite them
to our S S. that they might be taught
the most precious truths of the
Gospel of Jesus Christ, thus fulfilling
the divine command, "Go out into
the highways and hedges, &c. (Luke
xiv. 23). We now wish you to ac-
cept these gifts (here Mr. John Mar,
shall made the presentation) not for
their intrinsic value hut as a slight
token of our esteem for you as Supt.
in our S. S. Hoping you may be
long spared to fulfill the important
position of Supt. and that the same
Evangelical Teaching which has been
going on in the past) may be carried
on in the future under your super-
vision, namely, Salvation in the
Precious Blood of Christ and in that
alone. Also trusting that the childe
ren who pass through this S. S. may
become godly men and women and be
adornments to society, useful in the
world and among Christ's most preci-
ousjewels when he comes to make up
his jewels, and praying that when
your life is ended here below you
may hear the words pronounced up-
on you which the Lord said to his
faithful servants, "Well done thou
good and faithful servant (Mat. xxv.
21). At this Christmas season we
all join in wishing you and Mrs. Cluff
and fancily a very merry Christmas
and a happy New Year, and many of
them.
Signed in behalf of the congrega..
