'1'1I1 WESTERN FOUNDRY CO. LTD
Sixteen years ago Mr. J. J. Cunn-
ingham arrived in Wingham from Tor
- onto, purchased the Defunct National
Iron Works and started The Western
Foundry Company with a staff of ten.
men. They commenced the manufac-
ture of the "Crown Tiuron' range
- - 1which met with immediate favor and.
is now known from coast to coast.
'From time to time, new lines were
added, until they had a complete line
of Stoves, Ranges, heaters and furn-
aces.
With the energy they have always
displayed, buildings were erected and
- - equipped, until they had accomod-
ation for 150 men and the halm of this
has gone so merrily on that stoves
and furnaces by the carload were soon
being shipped from these works. Still
there was no abatement to the de-
mand for their lines, and if they
meant to keep pace with the increas-
ing flow of orders still more room
and more man power must be employ-
ed. In 1912 fifteen acres were pur-
chased and they erected a new unit
to their plant, consisting of a splen-
did moulding shop, 250 x 80 feet,
mounting shop, 280 x 50 feet, sbipp-
ing room, 300 x 80 feet all fitted with
modern equipment. With this addit-

other necessary utensils in connection
with the works. Fine large work
