Chicago, Jan. 1, 1881.
This is to certify that I have made a thor-
ough investigation of the Histogenetic Medi-
cines, prepared by Dr .1. Eugene Jordan, and
of his unique methods of research, and am
therefore competent to form a correct judg-
ment. 1 pronounce them marvelous pro-
ducts of the highest skill, Wowing, an ac-
quaintance with the natural science far in
advance of any savant with whose works the
world is acquainted. Tho amount of time
and painstaking which the doctor has expen-
ded upon the single branch of spectroscopy
is enormous, and his discoveries startling.
Also having used these medicines in my own
practice, I can say that their actualauccese
in curing disease is as great as is their dis-
covery. The revolution of the Medical
science of to -day is no dream—it is at hand.

MONTREAL LIVE STOCK
MARKET
The local trade was not over good,
the supply of inferior cattle being very
large. The only purchase of export
cattle we heard of was that made by M
Jas Eakins, who picked up about three
load for which he paid about 5 cents.
Syndicate buyers found nothing to suit
them and did not buy a bullock. They
received over two roads during the day
however, about 600 head of cattle. A
very large trade was done both in ex-
port and butchers' cattle, some 400
head changing hands. The supply of
good cattle was small and prices were
lower. One shipper bought two loads
paying 5c for steers and 4. to 4Ic for
bulls. The syndicate buyers offered .5c
for a load, but could not get them, re-
fusing to take them at 4c higher. Some
choice butchers' cattle sold at 54c, but
good cattle were selling at 5c; common
dry cow and half fatted steers at 3f to
4c, and inferior animals at 2 to 34.
Sheep and lambs sold well, the former
at 54 to $8 each, and the latter at $2.50
to $i ach. Calves were of inferior
qualityand hard to sell. The best
offered brought 56 to 56.50 each but
holders were glad to get $1 for others.
TORONTO LIVE STOCK MAIRKET
The Market was firm and active un-
der the light offerings and all found a
ready market, A few export cattle were
purchased, but the class of cattle tit
for this trade were scarce, and fdr these
prices ranging froth 54.75 to 55.25 per
ewt were paid. Local butchers were
good buyers and readily picked up all
offerings that were anyways suitable for
their trade. The stock on sale was of a
fairly good quality and all were taken.
Prices ranged from 1 to I:,b per Ib for
good to -choice and a few extra choice -
head found a market at prices running
Up to rite per Ib. Some inferior stock
was disposed 01 111 a traction under 4c,
but such sales were not plentiful, as the
animals poor enough to be knocked at
those:prices were few. Some sales were
7 butchers, 1,100 lbs, 5.111 each; It do,
1,000 lb, 44c per lb: '21 do, 1,050 lbs, 41c
per lb; 20 do, 1,100 lbs, 41ppr lb; 16 do,
1,100 lbs, 54.70 per cwt ; 12 do, 1,1501bs
5c per ib ;3 do, 1,200 lbs, 51;c per lb ; 19
do, 1,000 lbs, 4,.c per Ib ; 21 do, 1,000 lbs,
11.0 per !b. Wool sheep sold at from 58
to 59 each and' were in demand at that
ligure, but few were offered, Clipped
sheep and yearling lambs found a nitfrk-
et at 56 to $7, Spr ;imbs were in
larger supply to -day, :... 1 were of better
quality than has been coming forward
this season, andlall were disposed of at
5:1.50 to 55 each. The quality of the
calves on sale to -day was about of the
average, and all gond ones were in re-
quest., Prices ranged from $6 to $N for
good, at 51 to $6 for' inferior.
