MONTREAL LIVE STOCK
MARKET
There were 400 head of butchers
cattle. 160 calves and 60 sheep and
Jambs offered at the East End Abattoir
There were also several lots of the best
beeves held at the yards. Trade was
fairly good, but prices were a shade
lower than on Thursday, though some
of the cattle offered to -day were of
better quality, About half a dozen of
the choicest steers and heifers were sold
at nearly 5o per lb, with good butchers,
stook at from 44o to 410 per ib and
pretty good lots at about 40 per lb.
Rough, half -fatted boasts and milk-
men's strippers sold at from 3}o to 32c
per lb. Good vale are in demand, but
common stook are declining in value.
Prices to -day were from $2.50 to $7
each. The best sheep and also the
best lambs were bought up before reach-
ing the market, and this caused con-
siderable disappointment to some of the
best butchers. Sheep that are shorn
sell at about 40 per lb. while those with
their fleeces untouched sold at from 4ic
to 5c per Ib. The lambs on this market
today sold at from $3 to a little over $4
each, but good ones would bring pp to
$t. Fat hogs are in good supply and
sell at from 4c to 5c per lb.
The London Standard publishes a
review of the agrioultural outlook, in
the course of which it says the steady
rise.of wheat revives the hope of the
English farmer. Wheat will probobly
reach the highest pride in many years,
the principal cause being failure of
foreign crops. The wheat crops in
France and Russia are much below the
average, and the deficiency will be at
least 20,000,000 quarters It is expect-
ed that cold winds and frost have almost
destroyed the J!'renolr crop. Germany,
Holland, and Belgium, all flourish
pessimist reports. In Roumania there
is a decrease in the wheat area, and in
India there has been a bad wheat season

Dear Sir,—Fifteen years ago last No-
vember I started to doctor first. I was
treated for dyspepsia, but they never
helped me any. At times I suffered
greatly from indigestion. I turned to be
dropsical. Limbs and body swelled
badly. You know what I was like
when I went to Goderich—a mere
wreck. Could hardly walk, suffering
from Bright's disease. A year ago last
fall I began your Renovator and Speci-
fic cure; took the medicines steady for
three months. I began to mend right
away. But if you saw me now, well
and hearty, eat everything that is going.
I owe you the praise of saving my life.
I was in a hopeless condition when I
went to see you. In fact no person
ever thought I would get better. I can-
not speak too highly of you and your
medicines, for it was them .that cured
me. Words cannot express my thanks
to you. Freely pass my name to any
one. Yours, &a., JAMES DUNCAN:

J. M. McLson, Goderich. Dear Sir:
I have just finished your System Reno-
vator last night. My case was chronic.
Send me.another bottle. The Renova-
tor has done me a great deal of good.
Every person I u-eet remarks how mach
my complexion has changed, and the
expression of my eyes is so different; I
gained much in flesh. I cannot express
how much better I feel. In other res-
pects I improved also. Yours, TANET
