Here,is not only an. aged couple of seventy-four and seventy- one years respectively, in good health, enjoying the fiftieth anniversary of their anptala, but with them are twelve ren, whom they reared- around the very hearth whioh; now glowswith their common presences°neither-is there weep- inhere for a dear one missing forever from the fold, for the entirety of a this family has not been molested' by the " Grim. The afternoon was finished with conversation and music, and when -evening luncheon was about over, the distant beat of a drum was heard on the night air. In a few minutes the sweet strains of "Rome Sweet Home', from the Sunderland brass band were heard at the, windows. When the boys had finished their serenade, they were taken in and given. something stimulating .and. refreshing.
