Death of One of Originals of Royal
N. W. M, Police
The death occurred in Egmopdville
on Monday morning, Oct. 25th, of
Captain Jackson, one of 'the originals
of the Royal Northwest Mounted
Police, at the home of his niece, Miss
Jackson, where he has lived for the
past few years. Captain Jackson
was over ninety years ago.

Brussels Couple Celebrate Golden
Wedding
On Saturday, Oct. 23rd, two old
and well known residents of Brussels
•in the persons . of George and Mrs.
Colvin, celebrated the 50th anniver-
sary of their wedding at 'their home
in Brussels south. On October 23rd,
1876, the marriage ceremony was per-
formed, in Bluevale by Rev. ,Hugh
Cooper, rector of St. John's church
Brussels, while Mrs. D. Kennedy, sis-
ter of the bride, acted a$ bridcsrnai
and D. Kennedy assisted the groom
They took up housekeeping in Brus-
sels, and in • 1878 purchased a plot of
land and built the home in which then
